The 6 steps from your request to a Mobuline canopy

Most people are inspired to purchase a canopy after seeing one somewhere— at a restaurant, at a friend's place, or during a sunny holiday. To learn more, they usually start searching online and end up on our page. In this blog, we walk you through our production process in six clear phases.
Phase 1. Request

We ask you to send photos of your location. This gives us a good sense of the space to be covered. You also provide the measurements so we can prepare a cost estimate. If it aligns with your expectations, we schedule an on-site appointment.

Phase 2. Design

Your functional and aesthetic preferences form the basis of our on-site design. The shape of the membrane determines both the strength and the look of the canopy. Its signature double curvature is visualised through a detailed 3D presentation.

Phase 3. Installation

Once the project is approved, the structure is professionally installed on-site and measured in 3D. Measurements are only taken after all attachment points have been placed in consultation with you.

Phase 4. Engineering

The 3D measurement data is then translated into a 2D cutting plan. This plan ensures balanced force distribution to achieve optimal tension. Panels of approximately 70 centimetres wide are laser-cut and stitched together. This results in a structure that derives its strength from its shape—a double-curved surface.

Phase 5. Membrane

The panels are checked for weaving defects and manually stitched with Teflon thread in our own sailmaking workshop. After extensive testing of the shape and embedding the Dyneema band that runs along the edges, the membrane is ready for installation. No steel is used for finishing the corners.

Phase 6. Delivery

By keeping the entire production process within the Netherlands, we can maintain highly reliable delivery times. Within 8 to 12 weeks, all the above steps are completed. During delivery, you will receive clear instructions on how to assemble and disassemble the canopy within ten minutes.

Under the canopy, a different rhythm emerges. The shade moves with the day. The terrace stays cooler and more inviting for longer. Not enclosed, but seamlessly connected to the surrounding outdoor space.
